Esquisse and Project One

Esquisse 1: A RARE Concept
Week one activity:
The exercise was designed to help us work efficiently as a team and come up with a highly adaptable space using the least amount of materials, through folding, inflating and hinging. It was a good way to start designing and get some ideas for the first project.

Group 7 members:
Jacinta Somerton, Chris Wright and Lauren Shepherd.

Project 1: RARE Architecture
The project aims to re-define the portable classroom by incorporating the two major themes of the unit, sustainability and the learning environment; as well as the concept of RARE Architecture. RARE Architecture is a form of architecture that is Renewable, Adaptive, Relocatable and Environmental.

The intention of the project is to develop a new design for the Mod-5 portables that will create not only a sustainable substitute for existing classroom design, but also produce a practical space which stimulates creativity and learning.
